Dr. Keenan D. Dorsey Sr. is a native Delawarean born and raised in the City of Wilmington. Dr. Dorsey was mentored and molded by many City of Wilmington and New Castle County community legends to become a difference maker in our education system and communities. His life’s work has been focused on paying it forward by doing the same for the students and their families in our school communities throughout the state of Delaware.

Dr. Dorsey is a 1994 graduate of Howard High School. He went on to earn a Bachelor’s Degree in Human Services and Criminal Justice; a Master’s Degree in School Counseling; a Second Master’s Degree in School K-12 Leadership; and a Doctorate Degree in Education Innovation & Leadership.

Dr. Dorsey is a proud husband and father of 4 children and 3 grandchildren. He has served as a 20-plus year career educator having served students, families, and the surrounding communities of New Castle County in the roles of a Behavior Interventionist, Paraprofessional, Student Mentor, Student and Parent Advocate, Teacher, School Counselor, Principal, Head of Schools, School Turn Around Leader, Vice President of School Operations, and as a Consultant and Mentor to School Principals and Districts. Dr. Dorsey currently serves as the Director of Human Resources for the Red Clay Consolidated School District and is an elected official to the Colonial School District Board of Education.

Dr. Dorsey is a member of The Delaware Black Chamber of Commerce, Delaware Association of School Administrators, American School Counselors Association, and Redding Consortium Operations Committee. Dr. Dorsey has also served for the past 10-years as an adjunct professor at Wilmington University teaching, training, and mentoring future human services professionals, educators, and education leaders in best practices for serving our students, their families, and our communities.
