A Teacher at Innovative Kids Early Learning Academy reports to the Center Director and is responsible for providing a nurturing and stimulating environment for children aged 6-Weeks to Pre-School. This role involves planning and delivering engaging activities that promote social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development while ensuring a nurturing, safe and supportive learning environment. Working conditions include work in a classroom setting within a child care center, involving active engagement with children. May require occasional evening or weekend work for events or meetings. Key Responsibilities:

• Curriculum Development:

  • Plan and implement age-appropriate lesson plans and activities that foster learning and development in various developmental domains.

  • Incorporate play-based learning strategies to enhance engagement and curiosity.

• Child Engagement:

  • Create a warm and welcoming environment that encourages exploration and discovery.

  • Build positive relationships with children, promoting social skills and emotional growth.

• Assessment and Observation:

  • Observe and document children’s developmental progress, adjusting activities to meet individual needs.

  • Communicate regularly with parents about their child’s achievements and areas of growth.

• Classroom Management:

  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized classroom space that meets health and safety standards.

  • Establish clear expectations and routines to promote a positive learning environment.

• Collaboration and Communication:

  • Work collaboratively with other teachers and staff to ensure a cohesive educational experience.

  • Participate in parent-teacher meetings and center events to engage families in their child’s education.

• Professional Development:

  • Stay current with best practices in early childhood education through ongoing training and professional development.

  • Actively seek opportunities to enhance teaching skills and knowledge.

 

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field (Associate’s degree or 60 college credits with relevant experience will be considered).

• Experience in a child care or educational setting preferred.

• Knowledge of child development principles and age-appropriate practices.

• Strong communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills.

• CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).

Key Responsibilities:

• Support Classroom Activities:

  • Assist the Lead Teacher in planning and conducting age-appropriate lessons and activities that promote learning across various developmental areas.

  • Facilitate small group and individual activities, encouraging exploration and creativity.

• Child Supervision and Interaction:

  • Supervise children during indoor and outdoor play, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.

  • Build trusting relationships with children, supporting their social and emotional development.

• Classroom Management:

  • Help maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming classroom environment.

  • Assist in establishing routines and behavioral expectations to create a positive learning atmosphere.

• Communication:

  • Communicate effectively with children, parents, and staff, providing updates on children’s progress and any concerns.

  • Participate in parent-teacher meetings and center events as needed.

• Documentation and Observation:

  • Observe and document children’s progress and developmental milestones, providing input for assessments and reports.

  • Assist with record-keeping related to attendance, incidents, and health information.

• Professional Development:

  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities to stay informed about best practices in early childhood education.

  • Collaborate with the Lead Teacher and other staff to enhance the educational experience for children.

 

Qualifications:

• Associate’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field preferred (high school diploma with relevant experience may be considered).

• TEC 1 and TEC 2 credentials.

• Experience working with young children in a child care or educational setting is a plus.

• Understanding of child development principles and age-appropriate practices.

• Strong communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills.

• CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
